Nature of Our Assessments
All assessments, quizzes, profile tools, and self-evaluation instruments available through THE SABIL — including the Structural Reflection Assessment and any future assessment systems — are designed as reflective, educational, and self-awareness tools. They are not:
- Clinical diagnostic instruments
- Psychiatric evaluations or mental health screenings
- Definitive determinations of your psychological state
- Norm-referenced psychological tests validated against clinical populations
- Substitutes for professional psychological assessment or counseling
Our assessments are built on a synthesis of psychological theory, contemplative practice, and structural observation. They reflect patterns, not pathologies. They offer archetypes, not diagnoses.
What Your Results Mean
Assessment results are generated algorithmically based on your responses to a structured set of questions. They represent a snapshot of your self-reported patterns at a particular moment in time. They should be understood as:
- Conversational starting points for reflection and journaling
- Illustrative patterns that may shift over time as you grow
- One perspective among many on your inner landscape
- Tools for self-observation, not verdicts about your character or health
Your archetype result, dimensional scores, and pathway recommendations are interpretive frameworks. They gain value through your own contemplation, discussion with trusted mentors or professionals, and lived observation of whether they resonate with your experience.
Accuracy & Limitations
The accuracy of any assessment depends on the honesty and self-awareness with which you answer the questions. Results may be skewed by:
- Social desirability bias (answering based on how you wish to be seen rather than how you are)
- Current mood or temporary circumstances
- Difficulty with self-reflection or limited emotional vocabulary
- Cultural, linguistic, or educational factors that affect question interpretation
- Deliberate misrepresentation or playful experimentation with responses
We encourage retaking assessments periodically — particularly the Structural Reflection Assessment — to observe how your patterns evolve. Comparison features are available for this purpose, storing data locally on your device for your privacy.
Data Storage & Privacy
Assessment results are stored primarily in your browser's local storage, remaining on your device unless you explicitly choose to share them. THE SABIL does not collect, analyze, or retain individual assessment responses on our servers unless you voluntarily submit them through an explicit opt-in process.
Historical comparison data, retake records, and score tracking are maintained locally for your personal use. You may clear this data at any time through your browser settings. We have no access to your assessment history unless you choose to share it.
When to Seek Professional Assessment
If your assessment results raise concerns about your mental health, emotional well-being, or behavioral patterns, we encourage you to consult a licensed mental health professional. A self-assessment is not a substitute for professional evaluation and should never be used to:
- Self-diagnose a mental health condition
- Decide whether you need therapy, medication, or other treatment
- Evaluate your fitness for work, relationships, or major life decisions
- Assess risk of harm to yourself or others
If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or feel unable to care for yourself, please seek immediate professional help. Contact your local emergency services, crisis hotline, or mental health professional.
