Children & Youth Policy

THE SABIL recognizes that children and young people are both vulnerable and capable of profound insight. This policy establishes our commitment to protecting minors while respecting their dignity, autonomy, and potential for meaningful engagement with our ecosystem.

01

Our Commitment to Protection

THE SABIL is committed to the safety, protection, and dignified treatment of all children and young people who engage with our ecosystem — whether as visitors to our website, participants in community programs, students in educational initiatives, or beneficiaries of humanitarian outreach.

We adhere to the principle that every child has the right to be safe, heard, and respected. We do not tolerate any form of child abuse, exploitation, neglect, or harmful interaction with minors within any division, platform, or activity of THE SABIL ecosystem.

02

Age Requirements & Parental Supervision

The following age-related policies apply across THE SABIL ecosystem:

  • Under 13: Our general website, assessments, courses, and community platforms are not designed for children under 13 years of age. Children under 13 should not create accounts, submit personal information, or engage with content without direct parental or guardian supervision.
  • Ages 13–17: Adolescents may engage with appropriate content under parental or guardian guidance. Account creation for users under 18 requires verifiable parental consent. Some content — particularly in areas of psychological reflection, spiritual intensity, or adult-oriented wellness — may be restricted for younger teens.
  • Parental Supervision: Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their children's engagement with our platforms, evaluating content appropriateness for their child's maturity level, and making informed decisions about participation in courses, assessments, and community activities.

We encourage parents to engage with our content alongside their children where appropriate, using our materials as starting points for family dialogue about psychology, spirituality, wellness, and personal development.

03

Children's Data & Privacy

THE SABIL does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.

For adolescents (ages 13–17), we collect only the minimum information necessary for service provision and require parental consent for account creation, purchase transactions, and participation in community spaces.

We do not:

  • Target advertising to children or adolescents
  • Use behavioral tracking or profiling on minor users
  • Sell or share children's data with third parties for any purpose
  • Use children's images, testimonials, or creative work without explicit parental consent
  • Permit direct messaging between adult community members and minors without moderation oversight
04

Content Appropriateness & Safeguards

Some content within THE SABIL ecosystem addresses mature themes — psychological struggle, spiritual crisis, trauma, addiction, mental health challenges, and human suffering. While these topics are handled with care and sensitivity, they may not be appropriate for all age groups.

We apply the following content safeguards:

  • Course and program content carries recommended age ratings where mature themes are addressed
  • Assessment tools that explore psychological patterns carry warnings and recommendations for parental guidance
  • Community spaces are moderated for content inappropriate for younger participants
  • Graphic or disturbing imagery is not used in our educational or spiritual materials
  • Product descriptions clearly state ingredients, intended users, and any age restrictions

Parents are encouraged to preview content before allowing adolescent participation and to maintain open dialogue about content that raises questions or concerns.

05

Safety in Community & Physical Spaces

All community activities, gatherings, retreats, and educational programs involving minors adhere to the following safety standards:

  • Background checks for all staff and volunteers who will have unsupervised contact with minors, where legally permissible and operationally feasible
  • Two-adult rule — no single adult shall be alone with a minor in private settings without another authorized adult present or within immediate earshot
  • Clear reporting channels for minors, parents, and staff to raise safety concerns
  • Documented incident response protocols for suspected abuse, neglect, or boundary violations
  • Age-appropriate boundaries in all physical, emotional, and digital interactions
  • Photography and media use only with explicit parental consent and appropriate privacy protections

These standards apply to all divisions, including Masjid Salahadhin programs, SABIL Institute courses, OmniPath humanitarian activities, and any gathering where minors are present.

06

Reporting Concerns

If you have concerns about a child's safety within THE SABIL ecosystem, we encourage you to report immediately through:

  • Our Contact page, marking the communication as URGENT: CHILD SAFETY
  • Direct contact with any staff member, facilitator, or administrator
  • Local authorities or child protection services if you believe a child is in immediate danger

All reports are taken seriously and investigated with appropriate urgency. We do not tolerate retaliation against individuals who report in good faith. False reports made with malicious intent are themselves violations of our community standards.

THE SABIL cooperates fully with law enforcement and child protection authorities in any investigation involving the safety of minors.

07

Parental & Guardian Responsibility

Parents and legal guardians bear primary responsibility for their children's safety, well-being, and appropriate engagement with THE SABIL content and community. We ask that parents:

  • Review content before allowing younger teens to engage independently
  • Monitor their children's account activity and community participation
  • Discuss the nature of assessments, courses, and materials with their children
  • Set appropriate boundaries around screen time, content access, and financial transactions
  • Communicate with our team if they have concerns about content appropriateness or community interactions

We view parents as partners in creating a safe, enriching environment for young people within our ecosystem. We welcome parental engagement, feedback, and advocacy for the well-being of all young community members.
